Perhaps it’s the exquisite pleasure of knowing someone else will be making your bed, or the appeal of putting the “do not disturb” sign on the door, but there’s something about a hotel overnight that loosens you up.
Whether you’re in it for a rest or a romp, have no reservations about the Hotel Modern New Orleans. In the space previously home to Hotel Le Cirque in the Warehouse-Arts District, this newly opened nocturnal hotspot merges classic comfort, i.e. antiques collected all over town, with modern accoutrements like a little something called an intimacy kit for overnight guests. Offering far more than elevator music, burlesque shows and an international music series will be featured in the cocktail lounge Bellocq, named for photog with a fetish for pre-prohibition madams, along with potent sips inspired by Cure, and gourmet eats at the soon to be opened in-house restaurant, Tamarind.
If this hotel’s a rockin’, pause before knockin’.
