In some cities, hotel dining means making sure you get up at 6 a.m. to get first dibs on the unbruised fruit and the MYOW (Make Your Own Waffle) station.
Here in the Big Easy, the overnight-or-bite culture has reached stellar status. Continuing the successful combo is The Saint Hotel and its on-site bistro counter part Sweet Olive. Located in the revamped Audubon Building, you have the option to sleep in the guestrooms with luxe white lacquered furniture and deep blue ceilings or dine and dessert on modern Southern delights from exec chef Michael Stoltzfus (you know him from Coquette) and pastry king Zak Miller.
Because a plate of freshly baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies at check-in does not a five-star spot make.

Sweet Olive is set to open THIS week—in the mean time, you can taste-test pastry chef Zak Miller’s sweet somethings at the 10th Annual WYES Chocolate Sunday on Sunday, January 29th, at Harrah’s Casino. He’ll be doing a chocolate pudding with chocolate cookie crumbs that will make you swoon. Tickets are $50 for the VIP Hour in advance or $35 general admission in advance. Get ‘em while you can—it’s the most delish ticket in town.
