Captain Crunch and peanut butter sandwiches. Mac-n-Cheese topped with salsa. Chicken encrusted with Voodoo Zapp’s. Sometimes dinner means making due with what’s in the kitchen.
Leave the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink technique to Matthew Elliott Kopfler, the chef behind PPX Dinner Club. This new weekly pop-up supper club rolls out every Wednesday night at 504 Lyons Street (aka F&M’s Patio Bar), with a surprise menu depending entirely on the locally scored ingredients from the likes of Hollygrove Market and Rouses. One week it’s beet salad, the next a smorgasbord of salmon-themed fish dishes. No reservations required—just show up and stay until the food, which ranges $5 – $13, runs out. Another part of the biz—private dinners, weekly meal delivery and cooking classes per request.
This gourmet gathering will put your signature pralines and pepperoni appetizers to shame.
PPX NOLA has hooked up with Nola Locavores and Hollygrove Market & Farm to serve food at the monthly OCH Art Market within the Local Foods Cafe, which kicks off THIS Saturday, January 14th, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The perfect stop for some healthy local tailgating eats pre-Saints game!
